cummiedesgarcons asked: Ok how about these (asking because curious, could be interesting!): Squidward? Shinji Ikari? Finn the Human? Gordon Ramsey?
Squidward I’m not sure… Bard of Light? He has a plan to achieve all his dreams, but always ends up sabotaging it by being a prick to Spongebob and immediately ruins it, upon which he instantly makes another plan.
Don’t know Shinji Ikari.
Finn the Human is a Knight of Heart. Confident, passionate, motivated, and charges into battle sure in the knowledge of who he is.
cummiedesgarcons asked: you always seem to get classpect asks about pretty serious characters. Do you think you could do it with silly or funny characters? Like The Mayor? Or Spongebob?
I wouldn’t consider Radagast very serious in the Hobbit movie. :P But yeah, I can Classpect anyone with significant enough impact.
The Mayor (who I LOVE) is a Page of Blood. King Arthur parallels, dedication to his duty, his act of couriering the ring, pretty much everything about him.
Spongebob, as noted by bladekindEyewear, is a Bard of Hope. He’s so kind, optimistic, and caring that he ends up destroying everyone’s Hope and fucking everything up for everyone. However, in the end, this only serves to make him resolve to work harder.
Other than that, I’ve done One Piece characters before, who can all be VERY silly at times.
Headcanon: Heroes of Life are the shortest people in their session.
Counterheadcanon: Feferi is 14’ tall.
kankar-deactivated20141209 asked: On the topic of cross-fandom god tiers, what do you think Supernatural's god tiers are? (If you've seen it)
I’ve seen quite a bit of Supernatural, but I am far from an expert on the show. I don’t think I’m qualified to pass judgement.
ipaigeturnerbooks asked: I'm curious- as I assume you've seen the Hobbit film, what would you say Radagast's Classpect is? I personally wondered if all the wizards were meant to be Seers of Life due to their mission and all, and not fighting the forces of evil in an active way. Also, what do you say to Gollum's Classpect (if he even has one?)
I doubt that Radagast is a Seer of life. In fact, I doubt he’s a Life player at all! Life is brutish, nasty, and short, and Radagast is more dedicated to helping make it a little bit nicer. Radagast is probably a Sylph of Hope, dedicating his every last second to help make the world just a little bit nicer in his own way, and perceiving it in a rather eccentric and unusual light.
Gollum, on the other hand, is a vehicle for the power of the Ring: a broken, shattered being with no will of his own except to have the Ring and to keep it. While we do often see the attributes of a Void player in him, I would guess that it is probably Sauron’s own tendencies as a Lord of Void dominating the Ring, which is a piece of him, and consuming Gollum as a result.
Majority of Gamers Today Can’t Finish Level 1 in Super Mario Bros.
During a Q&A session, Satoru Iwata revealed why Nintendo’s newer games are easier. Nintendo conducted a test with many gamers and found that most of them were unable to finish the first level in the original Super Mario Bros.
Nintendo president Satoru Iwata fielded a question regarding the simplification of games during their 73rd annual stockholder meeting. The following is a translation of the question and answer:
“I feel that Nintendo games today are much easier which is why the Wii U might be failing. Back then, games were much more difficult and therefore gamers really enjoyed them so they continued to buy Nintendo games and systems. Do you feel the same way?
Satoru Iwata (president): I actually agree with your assessment. However, since you are speaking as a stockholder, you should agree with our strategy after you hear about the tests we have conducted.
It may come as a shock to some of you that most gamers today can not finish the original Super Mario Brothers game on the Famicom. We have conducted this test over the past few years to see how difficult we should make our games and have found that the number of people unable to finish the first level is steadily increasing.
This year, around 90 percent of the test participants were unable to complete the first level of Super Mario Brothers. We did not assist them in any way except by providing the exact same instruction manual we used back then. Many of them did not read it and the few that did stopped after the first page which did not cover any of the game mechanics.
We watched the replay videos of how the gamers performed and saw that many did not understand simple concepts like bottomless pits. Around 70 percent died to the first Goomba. Another 50 percent died twice. Many thought the coins were enemies and tried to avoid them. Also, most of them did not use the run button. There were many other depressing things we noted but I can not remember them at the moment.
Furthermore, we asked for suggestions on how to improve the game. A majority of them wanted the game to be easier and they suggested many ways to do this. Some of them wanted a mandatory tutorial while others wanted more ways to kill things besides jumping on them. We explained that Mario could shoot fire balls with the Fire Flower power-up, but then they wanted Mario to start with more weapons like a sword or a gun.
Some of the people seemed to be unaware that this was an actual old game that existed as they asked if the retro-style graphics were supposed to be a throwback to old Nintendo games. Some missed the point of the questionnaire completely and said that the graphics and music were terrible and needed to be improved in order for the game to sell. They also wanted a deeper storyline and voice acting.
So, as a stockholder, you should be relieved to know that our games are easier in order to attract a wider audience. As a gamer, you might feel a little sad, and you should be. It is quite sad.
Shigeru Miyamoto, Super Mario Bros. designer, also added that he originally designed the game so that everyone could beat it. “I failed miserably,” he said at the end of his answer.
w-wooow
No wonder developers are making games too easy these days.
Because lots of people are now turning into morons.
this makes me very emotional
is this fucking serious
what kind of a dingbat do you have to be to not understand a fucking mario game
I’d love to know the age groups they tested this on. Have a bunch of 50 year olds playing Nintendo? yeah..they’re probably not going to know what to do. Same thing with the younger generation that is now USED to never having to read instructions or use their brain and just want instant gratification from -everything-. Reading the manual ‘takes too long’.
Okay, here’s the thing: the reason that we can’t finish the game is not necessarily because it’s harder.
Look at today’s Mario games. There are about 40 powerups. Wall jumping. Multiple jumps. Tighter controls. Better level designs. Nintendo has been polishing games again and again for DECADES adding things to not only make them better, but also to make them more responsive and easier to control.
Go back to the original Mario Bros. You are in for one hell of a time. The controls are clunky and half your toolbox is removed, then you’re expected to run through a poorly designed level (YES A POORLY DESIGNED LEVEL DON’T GIVE ME THAT SHIT) with absolutely not tutorial (no I’m not a fan of tutorials but there’s no use denying that we’ve been raised on them). Half the tricks that are in the game you’ll never figure out, because you’re not told.
Games have improved. They’re more responsive, better designed, and they teach you more. So it’s like driving a new car: much easier than trying to stear a clunker.

galaxybee asked: do you know how i could figure out classpects for original characters?
The same way you would for any other person, I suppose.
Start by looking for their Aspect. How do they view life? What qualities do they have, how do they perceive reality? Find the Aspect that they have the most, but also remember that setting can skew the results, as well as the presence of other Aspects other than their main one.
Then, determine their Class. In many regards, this is much easier. Just break it down and decide how they impact reality? I usually start with active/passive, then look for how they try and get things done, and which of their methods is most effective.
goldenappleoferis-blog asked: Did you figure the OFF explanation on your own, or did you read any portion of it somewhere?
The OFF explanation was almost entirely my own work! However, I did do a lot of analysis, and talked it over with my best friend once I had figured it out to hammer out the details. I will point out that there was apparently a translation error that screws up my interpretation, but hell’s bells, I’m a fan of death of the author anyway. Might as well keep mine the way that it is.
