iiiim not entirely sure if the 'eridan purposely killed feferi' opinion is unpopular. i mean eridan is a character i like and even to me it seemed like he was very deliberate in his shooting of her. none of us can really confirm his motivation but if you look at him in the panels it does not look like anything accidental.
A lot of people will insist that it was accidental, especially because Eridan was insisting on helping to save Feferi’s life just moments prior, or else they will justify it by saying she attacked him. I think that he could have easily just knocked her out like he did with Sollux and it was just petty, bitchy anger that lead him to kill her.
